The Second Floor Cafe is one of E8′s best kept secrets. Hidden away, as it is, on the second floor of Netil House, and with only hand drawn maps telling punters how to get in.
It’s run by Italian brothers, which means it does excellent food and coffee, and they’ve also got some pretty comfy sofas. This is just the kind of combination we like.
So the other Sunday we took a load of interconnected bands down there. The London Fields, Louise Golbey, and Rescue Cat were all on the bill, plus funk and soul on the wheels of steel from DJ Andy Makin, who also designed the excellent poster.
